This involves cloning the entire site, cloning the database, and testing out all the plugins and custom coding that I have done to make BG Views Community run smoothly. Hit the jump to see my running list of what works and what does not.
- Apture 1.0 seems to work just fine, however I had to set it up as if it had never been used before.
- Better File Uploaded 2.2.6 works fine, as does the jQuery-based lightbox (meaning BFU is inserting the correct code for it to trigger).
- BlogShow MT 1.1 works fine.
- Bookmarks 1.0b2 still works.
- Convert to Global Template 1.0 works fine.
- Custom Header 1.0 Alpha works fine. Of course you need to edit the config.yaml file in the Community.pack folder.
- Facebook Connect is improved, the signface.js file has a new variable defined to get past the null user error. This means the hack that I have been using is not needed anymore, I just varified this.
- Forum Utilities 0.91 works fine.
- Ghostwriter 1.0 works fine.
- Hot Date 1.1.1 works with a fix from Dan Wolfgang.
- iMT iPhone UI 1.02 works fine.
- More Custom Fields 1.0 works fine.
- Podcasting 1.15 works fine.
- Poll Position Champion 1.0.4 works with a fix from Dan Wolfgang.
- Publish Queue Manager 0.95 works fine.
- Rich Text Editor Selector 1.1 works fine.
- Selective Blog Cloner 1.0 works fine.
- Template Exporter 1.12 works fine.
- Template Installer 1.2 works fine.
- YUIEditor 1.0 works fine.
Hot Date 1.1.1 does not work in MT 4.25. I have contacted the plugin developer to see why it would not be working.Fixed.Poll Position 1.02 does not work. It renders on the page fine. When you click a radio button and click Submit, it acts as though you clicked View Results, yet the ajax loading icon just spins forever. I have emailed Dan to see if he has a fix. I have not even tried Poll Position: Champion 1.03, but I am guessing that will not work either.Fixed.- Userpics module does not pull in Facebook profile pictures like my MT 4.24 site does. Also the Facebook XMLNS is not on every page template as it should be.
It seems to matter what type of blog a user clicks Sign In from as you are given an entirely different Sign In screen if you come from a Motion or Community Blog template set. I need every login screen, no matter the template set, to use the new style Sign In screen, as it is much better.I have filed a ticket with Support on this. This is a "feature" as the Motion template set has System Templates that other Template Set blogs do not. To get every blog in the system, Motion or not, to use the same looking login screen is going to be a bitch, as it is a lot of extra work. I have written a separate post on this subject.- Some tmpl files have been moved around, some have changed, some have stayed the same, read more.
- In Action Streams 2.1 there is Technorati Search and Twitter Search, where you can add a search term for it to pull information on. That is a nice addition to Action Streams.
- The WordPress.com OpenID, AOL OpenID, and Yahoo! OpenID plugins are no longer needed. They are now built in to MT 4.25.
- There is a new Custom Field type, Embed Object, which makes sense as that is a type of post you can make in a Motion-based blog.
