Forum & Comment Policy
We hope you will have a richly rewarding experience, filled with creativity, self expression, and fun. The policy is simple: treat each other with respect and without harassment and refrain from any hateful activity - and don't post spam. We will edit/delete spam comments, duplicate comments, unsupported
accusations, personal attacks of any kind, and terms offensive to
groups when used in a pejorative manner. In addition, we reserve the right to edit/delete comments that are off topic and without redeeming qualities. Your account will be disabled without warning if you post spam.
If you are truly bored, please read on...
Intolerance: Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame individuals or groups inhibit the satisfying exchange of ideas and diminish the community as whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual preference is not allowed.
Harassment: Harassment can take many forms. Communicating or behaving in a manner which is offensively coarse, intimidating or threatening, constitutes unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors, or is otherwise likely to cause annoyance or alarm is Harassment.
Disclosure: People are entitled to a reasonable level of privacy with regard to their online life. Sharing personal information about a user -- including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, and real-world location -- beyond what is provided by the user in their Forum profile is a violation of privacy. Remotely monitoring conversations, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without consent are all prohibited on the forums.
Indecency: BG Views is a mostly adult community, but mature material is not necessarily appropriate in all areas. Content, communication, or behavior which involves intense strong language or expletives, nudity or sexual content, the depiction of sex or strong violence, or anything else broadly offensive must be constrained.
Disturbing the Peace: Everyone has a right to live their online life. Disrupting scheduled events, repeated transmission of undesired advertising content, the use of repetitive messages or other attempts to inhibit another's ability to enjoy their online activity are examples of Disturbing the Peace.
Warning, Suspension, Banishment: BG Views is a complex community and it can take some time for new users to gain a full understanding of local customs and mores. Generally, violations of the standards will first result in a Warning, followed by Suspension and eventual Banishment. Moderators and Administrators may occasionally address problems with a temporary suspension.
Locking/Moving/Editing/Deleting: In response to offensive actions, moderators or administrators may lock threads to end discussion of a topic, or move threads to a more appropriate location. Moderators and administrators will do what they believe is needed to ensure that these forums remain respectful and harassment-free. In addition, we reserve the right to edit/delete comments that are some combination of pointlessly vulgar, vile, cruel, without redeeming qualities, and an embarrassment to the site.
Global Attacks: Actions which broadly interfere with or disrupt our community will not be tolerated in any form. We will hold you responsible for any actions you take or that are taken by someone using an account that belong to you. If you choose to substantially disrupt the site, disciplinary actions will result in a possible suspension and a review of your account for possible expulsion from the BG Views community.
It should be noted that, like all things, this code of conduct will continue to change and evolve with constructive feedback from users and from experience. It is our hope that these policies will create open, honest, and civil discussion. As always, we welcome feedback about any concerns that you may have so feel free to post in the forum suggestions thread. It is the users' responsibility to check this page for updates.
